Boyd @ Pilot Point: Here we go!

Hello from Massey Stadium! We’ve got about 20 minutes to kickoff, the rain seems to be on it’s way out and the teams have marched off the field ready to burst back on the scene through the tunnels.

Tonight’s our first go at live blogging, and should the Internet hold (shout out to Stuart Tilley and the good guys at Golden Chick), we’ll bring scoring updates, halftime and postgame reports.

Pilot Point (1-3) is a team needy for a win after the loss to Nolan last week. Boyd, also 1-3, is a team in need of a W, too, and is ready for the opp to get that win over a team that’s knocked them out of the playoffs the last two years.

Willie Davis could be seen suited up and warming up earlier tonight, which means he’s back from the sprained knee he suffered at Celina two weeks ago. Couldn’t find Jacob Lock, who broke his finger against Iowa Park, although head coach Blake Feldt seemed to think he’d be back for tonight when we talked earlier this week.

Last time these two teams met, it turned into a track meet, in the words of Feldt. Graduation hit Boyd hard as well as Pilot Point, but my money’s on the Cats tonight. The defense is ready to make a stand after allowing more than 100 points over the first four games. Boyd QB Tim Fleming is gone, but Colton Lyon is back, and as long as the Cats contain him at running back and watch out for him at linebacker, I think Pilot Point enters the bye week on a high note.

Time for school songs and the national anthem – see you @ first quarter!

P.S. just found out FM 89.1 from Weatherford is here in the box broadcasting the game if anyone wants to see if they can pick it up on their radios. Don’t abandon the blog, tho – stay tuned for more from The Post-Signal!
