Naylor Road/FM 424 has reduced lanes

Weather permitting, the intersection of Naylor Road and FM 424 will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane on both sides of the U.S. 380 intersection through Wednesday, according to Tx-DOT.

Reading with Santa at Johnson Branch

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Reading and Hot Cocoa with Santa, 11 a.m. Saturday and Dec. 21, Nature Center, and Woodland Ornaments, 2 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 21, Nature Center.

The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will offer Oh Deer! Reindeer Relatives, 2 p.m. Saturday, Lost Pines Amphitheater, and A Very Wild Christmas Campfire, 5 p.m. Saturday, Lost Pines Amphitheater.

Game Days, movie at PP library

Toys for Tots local drop-off locations

Toys for Tots donations must be dropped off by Friday. Christmas Party Market at Mountain Springs

LRRETA Christmas ride at Isle du Bois

The Lake Ray Roberts Equestrian Trails Association will host a Christmas ride, potluck party and white elephant exchange at 10 a.m. Sunday at Ray Roberts Lake State Park Isle du Bois.

AMS to hold Career Exploration Day

Candidate meet, greet with PPPD chief candidates

The Pilot Point Police Department will hold a candidate meet and greet for the next police chief from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the PointBank Community Center, 739 E. Liberty St. This will be an opportunity for residents to meet the candidates and ask questions.

Candidates include Lt. Steve Buchanan from Denton Police Department, Assistant Police Chief Angela Mathews from Jarrell Police Department and Deputy Chief of Police Ken Myers from Allen Police Department.

Santa Claus will be coming through town

Santa Claus will be coming through Pilot Point next week starting at 6 p.m. on the following days:

•Monday – Windrose, Yarbrough Farms, High Point, St. Charles, Willow Glade Circle and Twin Creeks,

•Tuesday – east of Washington, south of Burks, Prairie Street, Jefferson Street and Church Street,

•Wednesday – west of Washington, Parkway Lane, Arthur Street and Lakeview Estates, and

•Thursday – Mobberly Farms. The Aubrey route will begin at 6 p.m. on the following evenings:

•Monday, downtown Aubrey/Krugerville, •Tuesday, Providence Village/Silverado, and

•Wednesday, Winn Ridge/Savannah/ Arrowbrooke.

Transportation Center plans ribbon cutting

Pilot Point ISD invites the community to the Don Holly Transportation Center ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at 10251 Foutch Road.

Canned food drive at 1017 U.S. 377

Haughton Law Group, P.C., Healthy Gait Chiropractic and Texas Republic Bank will accept holiday food donations through Dec. 20 at 1017 U.S. 377. Donations will go to Shepherd’s Storehouse.

American Legion collects items

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 550 is collecting items to send to soldiers at Christmas. Send the name and address of any deployed soldier to [email protected].

Lovepacs requests donations, drivers

Lovepacs is requesting the following donations: cereal, canned pasta, chili, spaghetti sauce (canned), tuna, peanut butter, jelly (plastic jars), ramen, mac and cheese, soup, instant oatmeal packets, microwave popcorn, snacks and granola bars.

Area drop-off sites include Brookshire Brothers and Martin General Store in Pilot Point; Patrick Nolin Farmers Insurance Agency and The Peanut Gallery in Aubrey; and One Mane Place in Krugerville.

Delivery drivers are needed every Wednesday morning for about an hour as weekend bags are delivered to schools in the Aubrey, Pilot Point and 380 Corridor. For more information, email [email protected].

Drivers needed for Meals on Wheels

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver Meals on Wheels one day a week Monday-Friday for 2 to 2 1/2 hours from 10:15 a.m.12:45 p.m. in Aubrey, Krugerville and Pilot Point. For more information, call Cindy Faris at 972-838-3259.
