The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Reading and Hot Cocoa with Santa, 11 a.m. Saturday, Nature Center; Woodland Ornaments, 2 p.m. Saturday, Nature Center; First Day Hike Tri-Park-A-Thon, 1:30 p.m. Jan. 1, Dogwood Canyon and Nature Center parking lots; and Kid’s Trout Derby, 9 a.m. Jan. 4., Kid Fish Pond.
The Greenbelt Unit, 428 entrance in Aubrey will have a First Day Hike Tri-Park-A-Thon, 9 a.m. Jan. 1 The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will offer a First Day Hike Tri-Park-A-Thon, 11 a.m. Jan. 1, Isle du Bois boat ramp.

Movie, Game Day at PP library
The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will host the movie: “Inside Out 2,” 11 a.m. Saturday, and Game Day Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Dec. 28. The library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas.

Snow Globe Crafternoon at Aubrey library
The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will have Snow Globe Crafternoon (ages 6-12), 4:30 p.m. Friday, and movie party: “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” noon Saturday.

Tioga to have Santa around town
The Tioga Volunteer Fire Department was set to take Santa around town at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s route will cover south 121, across U.S. 377 and stop at 922. On Friday, the route will cover north of 121 and down 922.

Aubrey students graduate from UT
Laqutia Taylor of Aubrey earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and Tres Thomas of Aubrey received a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the University of Texas at Tyler during the fall 2024 commencement exercises at the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Lovepacs requests donations, drivers
Lovepacs is requesting the following donations: cereal, canned pasta, chili, spaghetti sauce (canned), tuna, peanut butter, jelly (plastic jars), ramen, mac and cheese, soup, instant oatmeal packets, microwave popcorn, snacks and granola bars.
Area drop-off sites include Brookshire Brothers and Martin General Store in Pilot Point; Patrick Nolin Farmers Insurance Agency and The Peanut Gallery in Aubrey; and One Mane Place in Krugerville.
