LETTERS TO THE EDITOR OPINION

We can work together

MDD Director Denise Morris snapped an 'ussie' with many of those in attendance at the Chamber of Commerce lunch held last Thursday at Lone Star Lodge.

It was a packed house, with folks keen to hear from City Manager Britt Lusk, MDD Director Morris, and Main Street Director Wendy Adkins.

The folks in this picture are a diverse group: some are logistics-minded, others are detail-oriented.

They build stuff. Or fix stuff. Some help lessen suffering.

Others creatively connect us.

Together, the people in this picture (and all who call Pilot Point home) can overcome the challenges of our time by using our resources and talent to cultivate a town we can be proud to call home.

Despite our political, cultural and religious differences, we are making more good decisions than bad ones as we build an inclusive, quirky, innovative place to live.

This is in large part because our leadership is dedicated to fulfilling the promise of our community.

I was inspired to hear about investments in infrastructure, progress on City projects and the big plans getting underway.

I've lived here awhile. I've contributed my share of pipe dreams and sweat equity.

It's good to hear that our leaders are doing their best to listen to our ideas and turn those ideas into reality.

If the people in this picture consider the benefits not only to their businesses but to the town as a whole when they make decisions, then this image will be one future generations will celebrate.

They will know that the leaders, entrepreneurs, workers and retirees in this room worked together to create a thriving, healthy, cultured place to live.
