Soaring to New Heights at Johnson Branch
The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Soaring to New Heights, 1 p.m. Saturday, Nature Center, and Card Making: Wildlife Love, 11 a.m. Feb. 15, Nature Center.
The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will offer Nature Center Exploration Day, 10:30 a.m. Feb. 22, Nature Center, and Career Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. March 1.

Gardening series to start at PP library
The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will begin a gardening series with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension at 2 p.m. Wednesdays from Feb. 12-March 26. Game Day will be held from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Income tax preparation is available through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program from 4-6:30 p.m. Thursdays through April 10 for households earning less than $64,000/year. This is a free program, and no appointment is needed.

Meditation Hour at Aubrey library

HOPE Food Ministry in need of items
HOPE Food and Clothing Ministry is in need of food to restock the food pantry at 819 W. Sherman Drive in Aubrey.
Requested items include all types of pasta, spaghetti sauce, rice, mac and cheese, bagged/canned beans, peanut butter, jelly, canned meats and oatmeal.
American Legion collects items
The Pilot Point Unit 550 of the American Legion Auxiliary is collecting items to send to troops for Valentine’s Day. Requested items include personal hygiene, individually wrapped snacks, socks, foot powder, wipes, etc. No chocolate or aerosol cans are allowed.
Items can be dropped off at the American Legion, 905 Foundation Drive.
Fine Arts Program to start spring classes
The spring 2025 Pilot Point Fine Arts Program will begin classes the second week of February with a showcase performance planned for 3 p.m. April 26.
Available classes include choir (ages 8-12), 5 p.m. Sundays; handbells (ages 8-12), 4 p.m. Mondays; music and art (ages 3-5), 4 p.m. Thursdays; and music and art (ages 6-7), 4 p.m. Thursdays at Pilot Point First United Methodist Church, 217 S. Church St.
