May is election season for the Ranch Cities with council and school board seats open all along U.S. 377.
Starting on the north side of the area, the city of Tioga has three council seats including Place 2 currently held by incumbent Galen Jones who has refiled for his seat, the mayoral office held by Craig Jezek and Place 4 held by William Fritcher.
As of press time, one other packet has been picked up though no additional packets have been filed.
For Tioga ISD, Seat 1, held by Mica Bates, Seat 4, held by Brandon Miller, and Seat 6, previously held by the late Stacy Price, are all up though no packets have been picked up.
In Pilot Point, available openings include the mayor position, held by Elisa Beasley; Place 4, held by Elizabeth Jones; and Place 6, held by Andrew Ambrosio. Brian Murrell is the only applicant who has filed, though two other packets have been picked up and several citizens have announced their intention to run.
Pilot Point ISD has two terms expiring with one in Place 3, held by Mandy Kirby who has filed again, and Place 4 held by Coby Chandler who has not. Lora Renfro has filed for Chandler’s seat and constitutes the second of the two packets that have been picked up.
In the city of Aubrey, both incumbents, Mayor Chris Rich and Place 3 Mike Browning have refiled though no packets have been picked up at this time. City Secretary Jenny Hicks explained they are available online, however, so others could be out.
The incumbents are again the sole applicants at Aubrey ISD with Place 5 Jim Milacek and Place 4 Trey Duncan being the only ones who have picked up applications.
Krugerville continues the trend with its three incumbents, Rodney Cagle at Place 1, Kristen Kromer at Place 5, and Shane Kading at Place 3 being the only ones who have picked up packets or applied.
The trend persists through the area with Providence Village having two seats available with Place 5, Jeff Doramus, and Place 3, Klayton Rutherford, who are both the sole applicants and are the only individuals who have picked up packets.
Cross Roads has three available seats with only the incumbents having joined the pool in Steve Zuczek, Chris Paus and Ron King.
The last day to file is Feb. 14 and packets are available both in person at city halls or administration building or online for most cities and school districts.
