LETTERS TO THE EDITOR OPINION
We’re not done yet
Hello Pilot Point.
I want to thank all the people who have reached out to help me these seven years I’ve lived here.
So many times kindhearted people would come to my rescue and give me a hand.
Of all the places I have lived this is the nicest bunch of people I have ever seen.
Genuinely friendly and considerate. But I will confess that it’s been a real struggle to live here and love the town because of mistreatment by the city officials.
They seemed to be intent on getting rid of us.
Matter of fact Steven, my son, was told on two occasions, “If you don’t like how we run things then pack up and leave.”
Steven dealt with injustices and harassments for two years before he had enough and went public with his complaints.
Up until then his complaints fell on deaf ears.
I’m so glad Steven stepped up to address the issues publicly because he discovered he was not alone in this battle.
He began to hear many stories of others in town who had serious complaints.
They joined hands, rolled up their sleeves and went to work to clean up a really big mess.
Getting rid of Rex Marks (chief of police) and Leonardo Bonano (code enforcement) were two battles won but they know the war will not be won until city manager, Britt Lusk, is gone and the entire council is flipped.
The good people of Pilot Point deserve so much better than this.
