Brown takes head spot at Center
Coach Nick Brown, former offensive coordinator at Aubrey ISD joins his family for a photo op after being named head coach of Center ISD on March 6.

After nine seasons on the sidelines for his alma mater and breaking multiple statistical records as the Chaparrals’ offensive guru, Aubrey’s Nick Brown has taken the next step in his coaching career, becoming the new face of the Center ISD Roughriders’ athletic program.

“I got the phone call Tuesday with the offer; Thursday I was in Center signing my contract and being approved by the school board and Friday I met kids and coaches,” Nick said. “That was all within 10 days, so it was a crazy, quick turnaround, but it’s been incredible. … Coach [Ricky] Meeks did a phenomenal job here rebuilding this program, and I’ve stepped into an incredible situation.”

After graduating from Aubrey High School in 2003, Nick attended MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas, where he was a member of the Pioneers’ football program.
