The Pilot Point Lady Cats and the Valley View Lady Eagles faced off Saturday, with the Lady Cats emerging with the victory 8-6.
The two teams traded the lead multiple times, but the Lady Cats used a 5-run flurry in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and take the win.
“It took us a while to get going, and we let some opportunities slip away, but winners find a way,” Pilot Point head softball coach Kylie Roos said. “That has been our message this season. It’s never too late, and we did a good job stepping up and putting pressure on the other team and then followed up with three quick outs to end the game. It was a must-win situation for us, and we did that.”
