GreenFest planned at Greenbelt Park

The Ray Roberts Lake State Park Johnson Branch Unit, 100 PW 4153 in Valley View will have Sounds of Night, 10 a.m. April 19, Nature Center, and Frog Philharmonic, 12:30 p.m. April 19, Nature Center.

The Isle du Bois Unit, 100 PW 4137 in Pilot Point will host Vital Vultures, 4 p.m. Saturday, Lost Pines Amphitheater; Prairie Restoration Volunteer Day, 9 a.m. Sunday, Bluestem Grove parking lot; Nature Photography, 2 p.m. April 18, Lost Pines Amphitheater; Canines of the Past, Present and Future, 5 p.m. April 18, Lost Pines Amphitheater; iNaturalist Hike, 10 a.m. April 19, Lost Pines Amphitheater; Nature Center Exploration Day, 10:30 a.m. April 26; and Snake Senses, 10 a.m. May 3, Lost Pines Amphitheater.

Coding Clubs, movie at PP library

The Pilot Point Community Library at 324 S. Washington St. will offer movie screening: “The Tiger’s Apprentice,” 11 a.m. Saturday; Coding Club: Treasure Hunt Loops (ages 6-8), 4 p.m. Tuesday; Walk N’ Talk AgriLife program, 2 p.m. Wednesday; Yarn Buddies, 11 a.m. Thursday; and Coding Club (ages 9-12), 4 p.m. Thursday.

The library is having a Library Card Design Contest with a $250 prize from Friends of the Library. Submissions will be accepted through April 22. Entry forms are available at the library.

The Aubrey Area Library at 226 Countryside Drive will host Whodunit Book Club: High Tea Tragedy Murder Mystery (ages 17 and up), 2:30 p.m. Saturday; Meditation Hour (ages 16 and up), 5:30 p.m. Tuesday; and Senior Social Hour (ages 50 and up), 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

KPPB to sponsor yard of the month

Keep Pilot Point Beautiful will relaunch the Yard of the Month contest voted on by a committee of Parks Board members and city staff. Monthly winners will receive a gift card to Rooted In.

Flag Program for Rotary Club

The Lake Ray Roberts Rotary Club is offering the annual flag program serving the Pilot Point, Aubrey and Krugerville communities. The cost is $50 per year and includes an American flag to be placed in a front yard or place of business on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Patriots Day and Veterans Day.

This program helps fund high school scholarships for Aubrey and Pilot Point, donations to Shepherd’s Storehouse and LovePacs, dictionaries for Pilot Point and Aubrey third graders, and local students to Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

Starbright MPA to feature ‘Matilda’

Vendor markets at Mountain Springs

Flower Festival on Historic Square

Pilot Point Main Street will have its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old City Park followed by the Flower Festival from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on the Historic Pilot Point Square.

There will be an Easter bonnet contest, gardening workshops, Denton County Master Gardener booth, live music and chalk art.

Aubrey to host Easter egg hunt

The city of Aubrey will host its annual Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park. There will be food trucks, bounce houses and vendors.

Carter BloodCare to award scholarships

Carter BloodCare is offering two scholarships to high school seniors worth $2,500 each. To enter, eligible students must create and share social media content on the importance of donating blood, encouraging others to donate, a transfusion patient’s story or another required topic.
