The Tioga City Council is welcoming the community to a meeting regarding the comprehensive plan it is working on with GrantWorks.
The workshop, which will be held at 7 p.m. May 5 in the Tioga Volunteer Fire Department meeting room, is open to the public and will give residents a chance to help shape the plans for their city.
'We need input,' Mayor Craig Jezek said after the Tioga City Council meeting Monday evening. 'We need the community's input.'
During the council meeting, resident Penni Moening told the council she appreciated the new water meters because they helped her identify a slow leak that had likely been at her shut off valve for a while.
'We used our COVID money to pay for autoread meters, so therefore … there was no direct increase in water price or [local property] taxes to get that,' Jezek said.
In the meeting, the council also approved a line item for janitorial services at City Hall to keep the approved amount in the budget no matter who the vendor is and approved Hayter Engineering as the engineering and architectural provider for hazard mitigation assistance.
The council also approved the Creekside Crossing Phase 1 final plat and construction plans, as well as a development agreement and municipal services agreement between the City of Tioga and the Tioga Real Estate Development Project at the corner of Buck Creek Road and Florence Street.
Also in the meeting, the new Grayson County Commissioner Lindsay Wright, Precinct 3, introduced herself to the community.
'I'm hot off the press, 100 days, still dripping wet from the ears,' she said. 'Don't have the crystal ball or the magic wand yet, but I'm super excited to work with y'all. We're going through the same growth things that you guys have gone through, all the pains. You guys have done a great job of navigating that.'
